This qualifies as another song that I know nothing about and can’t find any information on (similar to this recent post). Apparently Louis Gauthier has some sort of production company based out of the Netherlands, and Jules Deelder is a writer/poet with a combination cd/book (not sure what that is) entitled Totaal Loss. Their song “Voor Ari” starts with a simple acoustic strum, the kind of thing that you feel you’ve heard before, from a commercial jingle or a movie trailer tracked by some indie band. The words are sung in a language I don’t recognize, meaning they could be in pretty much any language that isn’t English. As the song progresses, it gets randomly, accidentally funky, incorporating some prominent bass into its forward thump. I find it all weirdly, lazily compelling.
